The set and Mise: What we will need (Joe Fisher)

The desk
Cluttered desk cluttered mind, what does an empty desk mean?
Features of the desk
- Oak: Oak is old, and fits in with the theme perfectly as oak furniture is commonly seen within scenes from movies of this type.
- It's large: this will allow for more mise related items to feature on the desk, and it's good for us as it allows us to capture more scenes regarding the desk and its features.
What needs to be featured on this desk
- Case file
- Case file cover
- Mobile phone
- Scalpel (things revolving around this)
- Stationary (pens, pencils, rulers, things of the time however)
- Ripped up propaganda poster
- Ash tray
- Rolled up pieces of paper
- Small box
- A book (Communist Manifesto)
- Desk lamp
- Envelope

The Set
We need to capture a sense of mania within what this person is thinking. they way we capture this will most likely be through the use of the set. Having things in the background helps us in two ways, as it fills up the scene and captures the set of the film
- Assorted boxes, full up with files
- Propaganda posters
- Old TV
- Lamp
- Ash
- Files and Burnt files
- Blinds
We plan on photoshopping our own propaganda posters so that they fit in with our surrounding set. The lamp, the old TV, the files and burnt files and blinds will be provided by members within our group

The TV
One of our group members has provided an old TV, which also has a HDMI port. That means we can link this TV to a computer and whats on the screen, on to there. This leads to a wider array of opportunities as to what we can display on this screen with ease, such as adverts, Public service announce, SMPTE screens, etc
This can really add to the vintage feel of our movie dependant on what we display on this screen at first, and what diegetic sound comes out of the TV as the scene rolls.

Here I've tried to gather what would be displayed when the TV is first turned on at the start of the scene. It needs to be sudden, and it needs to show what is about to appear one the screen after this initial screen, as it wont be shown for that long. After this in regards to diegetic sound, we can add some adverts that play after the public service announcement, to add the vintage feeling i was talking about previously.
